Goblin but Worst


Goblin but Worst is a small game made in 30 days and submitted as my entry for the SoloDevelopment Marathon Jam #5. The purpose of the game is to find and collect every rune, explore the alchemist’s house, break objects, collect the experience that will help you unlock other skills and transform the Goblin to other forms like the Slug and the flying Wasp.
When I initially came with this game idea, my goal was to practice in the blueprints and have multiple challenges for the player as rooms are progressively unlocked. Special care is given to the Level Design since the player is tiny in comparison to the environment which is made in a way to look good both from the player’s perspective and the flying Wasp perspective.
Also, that was a very good opportunity for me to test various game design features like the single book page that can be flipped to give the impression that there are multiple pages in the book, the carrot skill that points to the nearest Rune, the skill tree, and the skills cooldown feature. I didn’t participate in any of the 3D models, but I made a few small changes to them and their textures. Full credits to these creators is given inside the magic book.
